Pascal Paoli

Born in 1725, politician, philosopher and admiral Corsica. Proclaimed Father of the Fatherland, he was the initiator of the first democratic constitution in Europe and the first to establish a separation between the legislature and the executive. His political advances were greatly hailed by his contemporaries, notably Jean-Jacques Rousseau.
